About Willy.....
Things don't always turn out as excpected....
I wasn't supposed to get a new puppy last year - both due to my job and because I was a bit unsure how Babs would accept it. And IF I was to have a puppy, it would be a fawn female - no doubt about that. OK - I could consider a black female also, but female it had to be. I really don't like males, they have too many issues about both bitches and dogs, the are smelly, they stick their noses into everything and are too much dogs for me.
I have always had a crush on the handsome boy Boss - even if he is a male *laugh*. He is an outstanding briard with all the qualities you wish for. When Lisbeth at kennel Li-Brie told me she would mate Meja (N UCH KORAD Li-Brie's Corvette) and Boss (N DK UCH NV07 NORDV07 NV08 NV09 DKV09 Li-Brie's Boss Number One), I thought maybe I should buy one of the puppies, but since I wasn't going to have a new puppy I didn't think too much about it before the day they where born.... Two bitches and two males where born - and I couldn't stop thinking about them all night. The day after I sent Lisbeth an sms, asking if she would like one of the puppies to move in with me. Lisbeth liked the idea immediately - and I was going to have one of the black females.
As the puppies grew it was clear that one of the females would get a severe overbite - so then the choise was easy: the other black bitch would be mine... I thought. But it wasn't that easy at all !!! She was a nice puppy, full of energy and power, but it was something about her that didn't quite catch my sight at the first visit. I think Lisbeth noticed that quite clear, and as I sat in my car, driving home, I got an sms from Lisbeth, asking if I maybe would consider one of the males instead... I thought about it for almost 5 minutes - and turned completely around and was suddenly very ready for getting a male into the house !!! So - from wanting a fawn female I now was excpecting a black male *laugh*.
So no I am stuck with a black male, doing all the things that males are excpected to do!!! But still I love him to the tip of his tail ! He is everything I want in a briard. He is always happy, always ready for some fun, acting like a clown and lightens up my days ! I am not bored one single moment with this guy in the house :).
I started quite early to train with him - starting with both some easy obedience and tracking. The last year we have done a lot of training, and Willy is really fun to work with. He is so positive about everything and he has lots of speed and power. When on track he is very focused and consentrated - and I love working with him :).
In the showring he also fulfills my wishes. He is a very sound built dog, with excellent movements and lots of showquality!
